ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Supreme Court will resume hearing in Karmran Faisal death case today (Monday).

The bench comprising Justice Jawad S Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain during the last hearing had issued notices to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman and other officials, seeking record of CC TV record of Federal Lodges, postmortem report, data of phone calls between Mr Faisal and NAB officials and police record.

The NAB offices in Rawalpindi and Islamabad remained open on Saturday and Sunday despite weekly off to complete the task assigned by the top court. The NAB has submitted the concerning record to the Supreme Court.

On Saturday, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) submitted mobile phone data to the court while on the same day police also submitted preliminary report into the mysterious death of the NAB officer, a copy of the FIR and statements of witnesses.

Kamran Faisal was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his room at his official residence in the Federal Lodges in mysterious circumstances on Jan 18. He was investigating a high profile rental power projects (RPP) case, also involving Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, and was allegedly under pressure.

His death came three days after the apex court issued arrest orders for the prime minister and 15 other accused in the case.
