KARACHI: At least five people have been killed as a result of target killing and other incidents of violence across the metropolis on Monday.

In the Ayub Goth area of the city, a police mobile, two cars and four motorcycles were burnt in an attack on a police check-post. Following the incident police presence was heightened and an exchange of fire took place and the attackers fled. According to police, over a dozen people were arrested in connection with the attack on the check-post.

Meanwhile target killing also continued in the city. According to police, unknown attackers riding a motorcycle targeted three men on Kashmir Road and opened fire. As a result of the firing, three men were critically injured who were rushed to Civil Hospital by rescue teams. Two of them succumbed to their injuries.

A person was killed in Teen Hathi, Lyari when he was shot by an unknown person riding on a motorcycle. In Sorab Goth, a person was killed during a firing incident. Another person lost his life in the Bilal Colony area of Korangi.
