RAWALPINDI: Afghan Defence Minister General Bismillah Khan Mohammadi called on Pakistani Army Chief General at the General Headquarter in Rawalpindi and thanked him for the release or Afghan Taliban prisoners, adding that their release will play an important role in the peace process.

During the meeting held between the General Bismillah Khan Muhammadi and General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani at the General Headquarters, it was also agreed upon that the Taliban is a common enemy and can only be defeated by mutual cooperation.

General Bismillah Khan said that Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism were praiseworthy and it was agreed upon by both sides that Pak-Afghan security was dependent on one another.

Meanwhile General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani assured Pakistan’s full cooperation in the Afghan peace process.

The issue of cross-borders attacks on Pakistan also came into discussion during the talks and both sides agreed upon improving mechanisms at the Pak-Afghan border.
