WWC: Pak lose opening game against Aus

CUTTACK: Pakistan women’s cricket team makes a disastrous start to their World Cup campaign, losing the game by 98 runs.

Chasing 175 set by Australia, Pakistan were bowled out for a mere 77 runs.

Bismah Maroof fought a lone battle scoring 43 with the help of 6 boundaries, but because of lack of support from the other end it was in vain.

SJ Coyete was the destroyer in chief for the Aussies picking up 3-20. She was well supported by LC Sthalekar, HL Ferling and EA Perry, each taking a couple of wickets.

Pakistan women play their second match at the same venue on February 3 against New Zealand.
