CAPE TOWN: South Africa bowled Pakistan out for 169 to keep alive hopes of winning the second Test here at the New Lands on Sunday.

Resuming at 100-3 with an overall lead of 112, Pakistan collapsed to 157-8 at lunch and lost the remaining two wickets after the break adding just 12 more runs.

For South Africa, pace bowlers Vernon Philander captured four wickets and Dale Steyn bagged three while left-arm spinner Robin Petersen claimed three wickets.

For Pakistan, Azhar Ali top scored with 65 while captain Misbah-ul-Haq made 44.

Now, South Africa need 182 runs to win their second consecutive Test of the three-match Test series after winning the first Test by a huge margin of 211 runs at Johannesburg last week.
