PESHAWAR: Launching a crackdown against anti social elements in the city, police claimed on Wednesday to have arrested 89 outlaws including 16 proclaimed offenders (POs) and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.
According to details, acting on the directives of CCPO, Imtiaz Altaf police teams conducted raids in various areas of the city including Afghan Colony, Sardar Ahmad Jan Colony, Bashirabad, Saeedabad and Sando Garhi.
During the campaign, police arrested 89 outlaws including 16 POs for their complicity in crimes of serious nature. Police also recovered seven Kalashnikovs, 23 pistols, seven Kalakoves, three rifles, 13 Kg Hashish and 31 liquor bottles form their hideouts.
Cases have been registered against arrested and investigations are underway. (APP)
