Karachi: Rashid Rekha killed in gunbattle with Rangers

KARACHI: A notorious gangwar suspect was allegedly killed in a shootout with Rangers here in Lyari on Thursday, Geo News reported.

According to Rangers spokesman, the dead gangster was identified as Rahsid Rekha. A proclaimed offender, he was wanted for numerous counts of violent crime and had a bounty of Rs15,000 on his head.

Sources said Rekha's gang engaged with the Rangers during a search operation in Kharadar area located in Karachi's south.

"Scores of other gangsters were also apprehended in the operation. They have been shifted to unknown location for further investigation", said he.

The gun-battle also left a Rangers personnel injured, the spokesman added.

"Calm has restored in the area after the operation", the Rangers authorities said further.
