JUI-F, JI join hands 'in a bid to restore peace'

LAHORE: Jamiat Ulema e Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman Saturday met Ameer Jamaat e Islami (JI) Syed Munawar Hassan in Mansoora and agreed to work together in they said 'an effort to revive peace in the country'.

Jointly addressing a press conference with Munawar Hassan, Maulna Fazlur Rehman said that all the political leaders are invited to the All Parties Conference to be held on February 28 and today’s meeting was also held in this regard.

Fazl said that all possible steps were being taken to restore peace in the country. He said tribes in FATA have also constituted a 'Jirga' for peace talks which required endorsement of political parties.

The JUI-F Chief sought support of political leadership, saying that peace in the country is linked to FATA.

On the occasion, Syed Munawar Hassan said the provincial government is responsible for ensuring smooth law and order situation, however he added that he wanted to play his role for the restoration of peace in the country.
