KARACHI: Power supply has been restored to various parts of the country including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,Punjab and Sindh.

According to reports, electricity supply in parts of KPK including Peshawar, Swat, Shangla, Bunair, Chitral and Dir was restored.

The situation was also improving in Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala and other parts of Punjab. The PEPCO officials said power supply was restored in almost 50 percent areas of Lahore.

The federal capital was returning to normalcy after a rare power breakdown that hit the county from Karachi to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A spokesman for the Karachi Electricity Supply Company (KESC) said power supply had been restored in industrial areas of the metropolis including SITE Landhi and Baldia Town. They said that the power supply would be completely restored in the metropolis till 11:00 am.

Electricity was also restored in parts of Sukker, Nawabshah, Rohri and other areas.

Meanwhile, officials in the Ministry of Water and Power have said that over 5500 MW electricity had been added to the national grid and situation was improving.
