KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution against corporal punishment in both private and public schools, after the issue was raised in Geo News program ‘Chal Parha’.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti has also taken notice of the issue of corporal punishment in schools.
Meanwhile Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered that education must be given through love and not through violence.
Earlier the Chief Minister Punjab also took notice of corporal punishment after watching the show and said that he will introduce legislation against the issue in both public and private schools.
Chief Minister Punjab also ensured that the provincial government will take responsibility for the treatment of young Malaika after her story of having her eye wounded by a teacher at a private school in Lahore was featured on the show.
Geo News program ‘Chal Parha’ is geared towards reforming the education system in Pakistan.
