ISLAMABAD: The prices of fruits and vegetables have increased in the local market as well as in the weekly bazaars of Fedeal Capital.
According to the rate list issued by the Capital Development Authority, Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) for Sunday weekly bazaar, the prices of fruits and vegetable registered an increasing trend.
Apples were sold at Rs 40 to Rs 100 per kilogram, bananas Rs 60 to Rs 120 per dozen, 'kinu' Rs 40 to Rs 100 per dozen, guava Rs 60 per kg, strawberry Rs 150 per kg and dates for Rs 150 to Rs 250 per kg.
The prices of vegetables also increased as tomatoes were sold at Rs 72 per kilogram, potatoes Rs 100 per five kg, onion Rs 196 per five kg, turnip Rs 14 per kg, cauliflower Rs 20 per kg, cabbage Rs 16 per kg, brinjal at Rs 24 per kg, cucumber Rs 36 per kg, pumpkin Rs 46 per kg, carrot Rs 16 per kg, capsicums Rs 72 per kg, peas Rs 16 per kg, bitter gourd Rs 120 per kg, lady finger Rs 90 per kg and 'tenda' Rs 30 per kg.
