DALLAS: General Secretary of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Dallas, Mr. Akramah Khan has said that the party has achieved five-year democratic term in Pakistan despite hurdles and challenges.

The landmark event of signing of Pak-Iran gas pipeline and Gawadar Port handover to China are the final gifts to Pakistan from the outgoing government. The historic nature of these decisions will be recorded with golden words for coming generations, he said.

Mr. Khan was talking to Pakistan Geo news and The News International correspondent in an exclusive interview.

He said that PPP government has corrected the course of the constitution. He said that Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has walked on the footsteps of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and has performed in lights of her guidelines.

‘This has corrected the course of the country direction which has also been acknowledged by former Chief of Staff Mirza Aslam Beg in a recent interview where he said the country security has been fortified because of right policies of President Asif Zardari,’ PPP Dallas president said.

Mr. Akramah Khan said that PPP Government has created a massive database of poor masses of Pakistan and provide welfare programs for millions of poor people through Benazir Income Support Program.

He said that coming time will bear the fruits of democracy for Pakistan, when the progress made in last five years will reflect in lives of coming generations.

Mr Khan said that whenever we have seen free and fair elections, PPP has won with big margins. PPP is the only party that has roots in all provinces and Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.

He said that Bhuttoism reduces the relative poverty and bridge the gap between rich and poor. He said this election will reveal to our opponents as how much popular they are with people.

The slogan of "Agli bari - Phir Zardari" is catching up in Pakistan, so PPP opponents instead of begging to establishment should go to common man and present their programs. He said if PPP comes back to power, it will devote itself to work for poor masses of the country.
