LAHORE: Citizen Feedback Cell on Wednesday launched a departmental inquiry against 12 SHOs of provincial capital over 2,097 complaints during the month of February.
According to police, SSP Internal Accountability Division Shariq Kamal directed officials that no SHO would be spared if found guilty in using delaying tactics in registering an FIR and a representative of Citizen Feedback Cell would visit police stations and redress the problems of people.
Citizen Feedback Cell contacted 2,097 people in which 1,843 people said their problems had been redressed but 254 complains were still pending. To which, SSP Shariq Kamal directed SHOs to take an action over these complaint.
Citizen Feedback cell has recommended a departmental action to DIG Operations against SHO Data Darbar Inspector Muhammad Javed, SHO Gawalmandi Inspector Khalid Javed, SHO Shahdara Muhammad Subatin Shah, SHO Misri Shah Inspector Ahsan Ashraf, SHO Nawab Town Inspector Muhammad Qamar Sajid, SHO Factory Area Inspector Mukhtar Alwi.
Meanwhile, SSP Shariq Kamal issued show-cause notices to former SHO Gujarpura Sub-Inspector Khalid Farooq, SHO Lower Mall Sub-Inspector Shaukat Ali, SHO Islam Pura Sub-Inspector Safdar Shajjad, SHO Shahadra Town Sub Inspector Atif Zulfiqar, SHO Baghban Pura Sub-Inspector Mazhar Iqbal, Former SHO Shafiq abad Sub-Inspector Tahir Ikram for using delaying tactics in registering FIRs.
