ISLAMABAD: The meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to appoint a caretaker prime minister has been adjourned till 10:00 AM Sunday.

Speaking to the media, ECP member Riaz Kayani said no decision had been made, adding that a caretaker prime minister would be appointed by 1:00 PM on Sunday.

Kayani further said the meeting had been adjourned due to the ill health of Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ebrahim and the non attendance of Sind ECP member Roshan Ehsani.

The ECP is tasked with appointing a caretaker prime minister in two days from a list of candidates provided by the government and opposition.

The candidates include, Justice (retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid, Justice (retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso, Dr Ishrat Hussain and Rasool Bakhsh Palijo.
