S African soldiers killed in Central Africa fighting: army

PRETORIA: Several South African soldiers deployed in Central African Republic were killed in clashes with rebels fighters as their forces captured the capital Bangui, an army spokesman told AFP Monday.

"Following the engagement that we had... there were some casualties from both sides," Brigadier General Xolani Mabanga said, but he could not yet provide precise figures.
