Karachi: Policeman, city warden among 6 killed

KARACHI: Six people including a cop and a city warden were killed and several others injured in various violent crimes here on Friday, Geo News reported.

According to reports from Nazimabad, unknown gunmen injured three city wardens near Board Office and fled away. The injured were rushed to the hospital where one of the injured succumbed to his wounds. Hospital sources said the other two injured wardens were critical.

In another incident of violence unidentified armed men opened fire near Muddasir Masjid, leaving Abdul Hameed, 40, dead and Ali Murad, Hanif and Bakht Amin injured in Mehran Town, sector 6/D, Korangi within the remits of Korangi Industrial Area police station. The dead and the injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for postmortem and treatment respectively.

Police said that the incident was the part of dispute between two land mafia groups.

Separately, a cop Manzoor, son of Akram, was gunned down by unidentified armed men near Shunwari Hotel in Maripur in the premises of Kalari police station. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.

Police said sub-inspector Manzoor was stationed at Kalari police station, where unidentified armed opened firing and left him dead near Shunwari Hotel.

In another act of violence, the torso of a man bearing torture marks was found near Sea view within the limits of Darkhshah police station. It was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained yet.

Dalip, 25, son of Mohan Lal, was gunned down by unidentified bike riders near old Haji camp in Sarya Gali within the limits of Napier police station. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.

Similarly, Saleem, 32, son of Sultan was gunned down by unidentified armed men near Haryana Mohallah in Orangi town No. 10 within the precincts of Mominabad police station. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a postmortem.

Meanwhile, Khalid, 30, son of Allahrakha and Molla Bux, 40, son of Munir Muhammad, were injured after unknown armed men opened fire on them near New Subzi Mandi. The injured were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hosspital.

Two men riding a bike opened fire and left Mubark Ali, 30, injured near Bilal Colony in Korangi Town. The injured was rushed to JPMC for treatment.

A child Arbaz, 8, son of Baz Khan, was injured in firing by unknown armed men near Junejo Town in Al-Asif Square within the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. The injured was rushed to Jinnah
Postgraduate Medical Center for treatment.
