Degrees of Shekih Waqas Akram, Yasir Raza fake: HEC

ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) in a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has stated that the A-Level certificate of former Federal Minister Sheikh Waqas Akram and FA degree of former Punjab Assembly Member Yasir Raza are fake.

As a result of the above, the Bachelors of Arts (BA) degrees of Seigkh Waqas Akram and Yasir Raza have been canceled.

The HEC had to complete the verification of degrees of 189 former parliamentarians by April 5.

According to details sent by the HEC to the Election Commission, the degrees of 80 former parliamentarians were authentic. Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Amer Muqam, Khursheed Shah, Afrasiyab Khattak are some of the former parliamentarians whose degrees were declared authentic.
