WELLINGTON: New Zealand cricketer Jesse Ryder has been linked with a move to play in the inaugural Caribbean Premier League in July despite needing to recover from injuries suffered in a late night assault.
His manager, Aaron Klee, declined to confirm the media reports, saying the batsman is ``still very weak and can't do a lot'' and that it would likely be two to three months before Ryder is ``ticking over properly.''
Ryder was placed in an induced coma after suffering head and lung injuries in an attack outside a Christchurch bar in late March.
The New Zealand Herald said Tuesday that Ryder had been approached by CPL officials before the assault and might be fit for a mid-year return. (AP)
