KARACHI: There has been no let up in targeted killings in the provincial capital, as eight more people including a father and son lost their lives in separate incidents of targeted violence on Saturday.
According to details, armed motorcyclists opened fire on a mobile phone shop in Metroville area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, wounding two persons. The injured succumbed to their wounds when they were being rushed to a hospital. Later, police confirmed that the deceased, identified as Qalb-e-Abbas and Mussarat-e-Abbas, were father and son.
In Shah Faisal colony number 5, unknown assailants gunned down Kashif Qadri. According to the spokesman of Sunni Tehreek, the deceased was one of its activists.
Two people were murdered in Musharraf Colony, Mauripur and Abdullah Goth, Port Qasim.
A tortured dead body of an unidentified man was recovered from Link Road, Gulshan-e-Hadeed.
Meanwhile, a hand grenade hurled in Bolton Market failed to go off and the police had to call out a bomb disposal squad to defuse it.
