Munawar Hasan unveils JI’s election manifesto

LAHORE: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Munawar Hasan has said that his Party will bring revolutionary changes in the foreign policy after coming to power.

Announcing the party’s manifesto here on Monday‚ Munawar Hasan said independence of Kashmir is the important part of his Party's manifesto.

He said it is important for the people to be aware of the manifestoes of the political parties. He said his party would eradicate unequal distribution of wealth.

“Change cannot come without a change in the voting trends of the people,” he added.

He said if elected to power, his party will introduce a 30 percent cut in the prices of gas and electricity and landlords will be brought into tax net. “Land will be distributed among the peasants while interest-free loans will be disbursed to the homeless,” he vowed.

Munawar Hasan said it is the responsibility of the political parties not to give election tickets to candidates who are corrupt, ineligible or hold fake degrees.

He regretted that ever since Pakistan engaged itself in the so-called war on terror, it only witnessed rise in the acts of terrorist activities. “The war on terror has never been our own and it never will be,” he added.
