KARACHI: Two persons lost their lives while 18 others sustained wounds after a powerful blast ripped through a bus stop near People’s Chowrangi in North Nazimabad area here Tuesday night.
According to sources, the blast targeted a Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) election camp set up in the area ahead of May 11 general elections.
The injured have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where a few of the injured are said to be in a critical condition.
The powerful blast shattered the window panes of the buildings surrounding the site of the tragic incident in Karachi - the provincial capital and commercial hub of Pakistan.
The initial reports say the blast took place when explosives strapped to a motorcycle went off.
Earlier, a string of bomb blasts ripped through Quetta - the provincial capital of Balochistan – killing at least two people and injuring several others.
