Hoda Kotb moved to tears while receiving heartfelt goodbye on 'Today' show

An acclaimed American broadcaster and journalist, Hoda Kotb, has bid an emotional farewell to the Today show.

The 60-year-old left the NBC morning show on Friday, January 10, and people from all over came to the Today Plaza, braving the cold to celebrate her goodbye.

While having a conversation with People magazine there, she said, “This has been overwhelming, beautiful.”

Kotb added, “I don't know how to describe it, but I feel like all of my dreams came to bear on this day. I'm looking around at my kids, my family, and everybody who came out here this morning. I love you guys.”

The host, who has been associated with the Today show for 17 years, showed her gratitude to thank the crowd for cheering her on as they brought posters, bracelets, and gifts to celebrate her.

Shedding live on the love she received, the author of Hope is a Rainbow stated, “I feel like every time I look out the window of the Today show, there are people who have my back and they're right here. I’m face-to-face right now, and it was beautiful and amazing.”

It is pertinent to mention that Hoda Kotb proclaimed in September last year that she was leaving the show because her daughters "need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie."
