SC orders Interior Ministry to probe IGP Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has directed the Interior Ministry to probe Inspector General Police (IGP) Islamabad Bani Amin Khan in the Pervez Musharraf escape case.

The apex court rejected a plea moved by the IGP Islamabad against the Islamabad High Court orders seeking action against him.

The application stated that the high court had ordered Interior Secretary to take action against the IG and submit report within 24 hours. Abdul Aziz, counsel for the IGH told prayed the court to issue a stay order as the high court was also hearing a case involving the IGP.

A March 23 order of the court was also submitted to the court by the IG.
