Country music singer Randall King and his fiancée, Brittany Warthan are preparing to welcome their first child.
“I’m about to be a father,” King told Us Weekly. “I am responsible for a life. I’m responsible for my family. It’s definitely changed my perspective and it’s changed the angles of my songwriting. There’s a happiness in my writing now that wasn’t in my music forever.”
In the spirit of parenthood, the couple have penned a song titled Baby Steps.
Sharing insight on the song, Warthan said: “It takes you through pretty much our whole relationship and how we started, where we were. We’ve really been through a whole lot, and the last year has been the most growth for us.”
King also revealed the story of how Warthan told him of the pregnancy using Uno cards.
“These Uno cards have blank spots where you write in your own rule. Sometimes you drop that card and it’s a blank white spot. You just make up a rule. … She drops this card. She had written on the card, and I was like, ‘That’s weird. What’s this rule going to be?’ It said, ‘Draw four. The baby’s on the way.’”
Randall King and Brittany Warthan have been dating for more than four years.
