SZA still finds being in the public eye “weird” after more than a decade in the spotlight.
The 35-year-old singer discussed her complicated relationship with fame in an interview with Extra promoting her film One of Them Days alongside Issa Rae and Keke Palmer.
“Some people are very well acclimated in being perceived and also have a different mechanism to approach that,” explained SZA, who real name is Solana Imani Rowe.
“Keke has this crazy network of a mechanism where it’s like, everything just kind of like flows, even when the cameras are on,” she continued.
The Open Arms hitmaker further said, "For me, it’s a little harder to like be so comfortable when I don’t really know what is happening… I didn’t grow up famous.”
"[Fame] is so weird and people be actin' like it’s normal. They be like, ‘That’s what you signed up for,’ and I’m just like, ‘I didn’t even know what I was signing up for, actually,” the four-time Grammy winner added.
SZA’s debut film One of Them Days is currently available in cinemasto watch.
