HARARE: Mushfiqur Rahim fell short of a potential century, but Bangladesh extended their lead to 360 as they took the game further away from Zimbabwe on the fourth morning of the second Test at Harare Sports Club on Sunday.
Mushfiqur was dismissed for 93 in the second half of the first session, but Nasir Hossain's 37 not out took Bangladesh to lunch on 251 for seven.
Mushfiqur shared in two crucial partnerships during his knock, putting on 84 for the fifth wicket with Shakib Al Hasan on Saturday to rescue the Bangladesh innings from 65 for four, then adding another 84 with Nasir.
The Bangladesh captain was eventually dismissed by Hamilton Masakadza,
before the Zimbabwe leg spinner had Ziaur Rahman stumped in the following over.
Sohag Gazi was 11 not out at lunch as he and Nasir extended the innings.
For their part, Zimbabwe were left eyeing the second new ball, due four
overs after the lunch break, as their opportunity to end the Bangladesh innings before the fourth-innings target became an impossible task. (AFP)
