BAGHDAD: Two bombings near a Sunni mosque north of Baghdad and at one at funeral in south killed at least 46 people and wounded dozens of others on Friday, police said.

According to details a bomb exploded as worshipers were leaving the Saria mosque in the centre of Baquba after weekly Muslim prayers, while a second detonated after people gathered at the scene of the first blast, the sources said.

Later, a bomb targeting the funeral procession of a Sunni man killed eight people in the south of Baghdad.

The bombing in the town of Madain also wounded at least 25 people, the sources said. (AFP)
