LAHORE: As many as 49 independent MNAs and MPAs-elect on Wednesday jumped into the bandwagon of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, by submitting affidavits to the Election Commission in Punjab.

The 49-MPs-elect including 13 independent MNAs-elect and 36 independent MPAs-elect appeared before the Punjab Election Commissioner Mehboob Anwar on Wednesday.

They submitted the affidavits to the ECP official, testifying that they had joined the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

Former Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Rana Mashood Ahmed was also present on the occasion. Prominent among the 13 MNAs-elect were former state minister for foreign affairs Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, former state minister Raza Hiraj and ex- federal minister Awais Leghari.
