LONDON: Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has said that the senior worker of the party Nadeem Nusrat was being made ad-hoc in-charge of the coordination committee in the London secretariat.
Talking to the provisional Coordination Committee, the dissolved Coordination Committee and members of various wings of the MQM at Nine Zero, Altaf Hussain said that the complete reorganization of the Coordination Committee and other departments of the MQM would require fifteen days to one month but names of some members of the Coordination Committee and Karachi Tanzeemi (Organizing) Committee would be announced today in a General Workers' Meeting.
The MQM Chief said that the process of reorganization remained pending for long time because of circumstances and particularly because of the situation in Sindh and Karachi. The office-bearers were limited to Nine Zero because of threats of terrorism resulting in certain weaknesses and shortcomings.
He said that interviews were being held continuously for reorganizing the Coordination Committee and other departments of the party. He said the MQM is a political party that works on scientific and ideological principles. The process of self-accountability and learning continues in the MQM constantly.
Altaf further said that he was receiving thousands of fax and telephone calls and added that he would ensure that the content of the fax and names of the sender are not disclosed to the person against whom the complaint is made. If anyone in the international secretariat did this in future, they would be expelled from the party.
