PESHAWAR: The World Health Organization (WHO) has stopped anti-polio teams from working in the city.

The decision was made after anti-polio teams refused to work in several areas of the city following an attack on vaccination workers.

Earlier on Tuesday, a woman was shot dead while another was injured in the Badaber area of Peshawar. Both women were polio vaccination workers.

According to a statement, the WHO has asked ulema (religious scholars) to help in making the anti-polio a success.
