Workers being arrested on basis of false cases: MQM

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has condemned extra judicial killing of its workers, demanding rulers to play their role in recovering missing party activists.

Addressing a press conference MQM leader Amir Khan, flanked by Dr Sagheer Ahmed and Haider Abbas Rizvi, said that Unit In-charge Ajmal Baigh was tortured to death after being kidnapped on May 19 from Burns Road area of the city.

He said that several MQM workers had been arrested over the last few months, nine of them were still missing. The MQM leader said that his party activists were being arrested on the basis of false cases while Lyari gangsters were roaming freely.

Amir Khan said that due process of law should be followed if any case was registered against MQM workers.
