ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Sher Ali Gorchani has been elected as Deputy Speaker of Punjab Assembly (PA) by obtaining 279 votes, Geo news reported.
Rana Muhammad Iqbal, who managed to retain the office of Speaker PA, administered oath to the newly elected deputy speaker Sher Ali Gorchani.
Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PPP) had nominated Sardar Waqas Hassan Moakkal for the office of deputy speaker while Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had withdrawn its candidate.
