Musharraf bail: Justice Siddiqui dissociates himself from IHC bench

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) bench seized to hear Musharraf’s bail plea in judges’ detention case stood dissolved after one of the judges, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui excused himself from hearing the case, Geo News reported.

Justice Shaukat stated that he is being targeted by a social media smear campaign against him and, therefore, he does not think it appropriate to continue hearing the case.

A new bench will be constituted to hear the case, therefore, the matter has been sent to the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court for constituting the new bench.
