ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has prohibited parliamentarians, federal ministers and other officials from undertaking unnecessary foreign tours.
According to sources, Prime Minister Sharif has directed concerned departments to ensure that there is a 30 percent decrease in foreign tours.
Directives have also been issued to seek permission from the concerned authority prior to the tour. Federal Ministers will require permission from the Prime Minister, MNAs from the Speaker of the House and Senators from Chairman Senate.
The prime minister secretariat has prepared a summary in this regard which also includes recommendation to decrease the cost of foreign tours by 40 percent.
