ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Thursday completed its first phase of "Clean and Green Islamabad" campaign, which was started from sector I-10 and culminated at G-6.

"The credit of successful campaign goes to the residents, traders community, civil society, senior citizens, especially the students of the federal capital", the Chairman CDA Syed Tahir Shahbaz said in a statement.

The Chairman CDA disclosed the purpose of this healthy activity to
make direct and effective coordination between CDA officials and public, adding that residents of the city have been filing their complaints in connection with their grievances directly at camp office.

He said that for the first time in the history of CDA, Chairman CDA
along with Board Members and other officers remained present among the public and resolved their issues at their doorstep.

The Chairman pointed out that during the first phase of the campaign, we had understood the basic issues persisting in all sectors of Islamabad, adding that in the light of this experience CDA would specifically allocate budget for the next fiscal year to resolve the grievances.

Discussing temporary water crisis, Syed Tahir Shahbaz stated that it was due to power outage and after operating the tube wells on generators and availability 30 more water tankers would help reduce water complaints.

Chairman CDA thanked the media for its cooperation and said that media has been playing its vital role in awareness about the sanitation issues, saving the water and making the city clean and green.

He said that during the campaign, CDA focused on basic issues related to 13 Sectors of I, G and F series, where the officers of different formations of the authority have received complaints directly at camp offices from the residents of these sectors during the three day campaign in each sector and resolved the issues.

On this occasion, Member Planning and Design, Syed Mustafain Kazmi, Member Engineering, Sanaullah Aman and other officials of CDA including President Melody Market Trader's Community, Adil Anis were also present. (APP)
