KARACHI: Nine more dengue viral fever cases were detected in Karachi on Friday, increasing the patients toll to 345 this year so far, said Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh.

Focal Person for Dengue Surveillance Cell Sindh Dr M Shakeel Aamir Mullick said that a total of 345 dengue fever cases have been reported in Sindh province since January 2013, out of them 335 were reported in Karachi alone.

"Two dengue patients expired in Karachi this year." Mullick said that 19 dengue patients were still admitted to different hospitals of the Karachi and nine new cases were reported on 28th June. However, five patients were discharged from hospitals after treatment on Friday.(PPI)
