King Charles brings Kate Winslet on board as ambassador for his foundation

King Charles has named Kate Winslet as its newest ambassador as his The King’s Foundation marks 35 years.

Set up by the monarch in 1990 when he was Prince of Wales, the foundation focuses on teaching traditional skills and supporting sustainable communities.

Expressing her delightfulness on getting the honour, the actor revealed how passionate she is of promoting the natural world.

"I am delighted to become an Ambassador for The King's Foundation in the charity's 35th anniversary year,” she said, per GB News.

“One of my passions is exploring ways that we can protect and promote the natural world - something I have in common with His Majesty!" the Hollywood star added.

Winslet continued, "I am therefore thrilled to put this passion into practice by working with the King's Foundation.

“I look forward to supporting the charity's life-changing work to build sustainable communities and transform lives into the future."

The Titanic star joins the star line-up of ambassadors, includes David Beckham, Sienna Miller, Rod Stewart, Penny Lancaster, rugby player Maro Itoje.

Other ambassadors include television personalities like Alan Titchmarsh, Raymond Blanc, Sarah Beeny, Patrick Grant, George Clarke and Jools Holland.
