EL-ARISH: Armed supporters of Egypt's ousted president Mohamed Morsi stormed North Sinai's provincial headquarters in El-Arish on Friday after a gunfight and raised the black banner of militants, an AFP correspondent said.

He said the protesters entered the building after it was abandoned by security forces, as supporters of the president overthrown on Wednesday in a military coup also clashed with opponents elsewhere in the country.

At least 16 people were wounded in the clashes in El-Arish, medics said.
