Dar, Shah discuss NAB chairman appointment

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has discussed with the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah the matter of appointment of chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Dar told Shah that there were no reservations regarding appointing Justice (retd) Rana Bhagwandas as Chairman NAB, however there were some legal complications. Shah said that legal complications could be resolved through dialogue.

Earlier on Tuesday, President Asif Ali Zardari approved the termination of Fasih Bokhari as NAB chief.

Shah had put forward the names of Justice (retd) Bhagwandas and Justice (retd) Sardar Raza for the post while Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had nominated Justice (retd) Rehmat Hussain Jaffery and Khawaja Zaheer.
