Obamas congratulate British royals on the birth of boy

WASHINGTON: US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle on Monday congratulated Britain's Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the "joyous occasion" of the birth of their first child, a son.

"We wish them all the happiness and blessings parenthood brings. The child enters the world at a time of promise and opportunity for our two nations," the first couple said in a statement. (AFP)
