ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has excused itself from holding Local Government (LG) polls in September.

According to the ECP, no province had completed legislation for the LG elections. The ECP added that it would take at least 90 days to conduct the polls.

The Supreme Court had directed all four provinces to conduct LG elections by September and ordered legislation in this regard to be completed by August 15.
