Jane Fonda breaks her silence on the death of longtime costar Robert Redford.
Hollywood icon Robert passed away at the age of 89 on Tuesday.
Following the death of The Electric Horseman star, his longtime co-star Jane said that his loss hit her hard.
In a statement shared by CNN, the actress, who starred alongside Robert in classics like Barefoot in the Park (1967) and The Electric Horseman (1979), stated, "It hit me hard this morning when I read that Bob was gone. I can’t stop crying."
"He meant a lot to me and was a beautiful person in every way. He stood for an America we have to keep fighting for," she added further.
It is worth mentioning that Robert Redford and Jane Fonda, who co-starred in several in 90s films, also reunited in Netflix's 2017 movie Our Souls at Night.
Other celebrities also paid tribute to the Hollywood legend with Barbra Streisand, who starred with Redford in The Way We Were (1973), calling hims "charismatic, intelligent, intense, always interesting— and one of the finest actors ever."
