Ben Affleck has opened up about the motivation behind producing Jennifer Lopez's latest film, Kiss of the Spider Woman.

As fans will know, Lopez and Affleck have a long and well-documented history.

They were married for two years before the singer filed for divorce in August 2024.

The pair first dated in the early 2000s, famously earning the nickname “Bennifer,” before rekindling their romance in 2021 and marrying the following year.

As reported by Daily Mail, the Oscar winner was asked about the awards buzz surrounding Lopez's performance when he explained that his focus had simply been on making something “great.”

"I like to try to develop my own standard for what I really like," Affleck said.

"I’m enormously proud of the movie. I always will be. I love this movie"

The movie is slated to hit theaters on 10th October 2025.

The film was produced through Affleck's company, Artists Equity, which he co-founded with longtime collaborator Matt Damon.

The movie in discussion follows Valentín, played by Diego Luna, a political prisoner, who shares a cell with Molina, played by Tonatiuh, who was convicted of public indecency.

An unlikely bond forms between them as Molina recounts a Hollywood musical plot starring Ingrid Luna, played by Jennifer Lopez.
