Federer struggles but through to QF in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI: Roger Federer dodged an upset Thursday as he rallied to overcome Tommy Haas 1-6, 7-5, 6-3 to move into the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Masters.

The five-time Cincinnati champion from Switzerland was still struggling with his game against his longtime rival, but pulled himself together just in time to take the third-round win and assure himself of some much-needed match play as the US Open approaches.(AFP)
