ISLAMABAD: A local court on Saturday exonerated Khalid Jadoon, a prayer leader of a mosque and an accused in Rimsha Masih case.
District and Session Judge Rana Jawad Abbas issued the order after a counsel for the accused contended that there was no eyewitness against his client.
Rimsah was accused committing blasphemy in 2012 after a local cleric accused her of burning pages of the Holy Quran. The court had granted her bail and later blasphemy charges against her were dropped for want of evidence.
After the incident, Rimsah left Pakistan and sought asylum in Canada.
