Mahrun Nisa Shareef laid to rest in Amarillo

DALLAS: Mrs. Mahrun Nisa Shareef, the wife of a prominent community leader of Amarillo Texas, Attorney Syed Hussain Shareef, and aunt of Muslim Community Center for Human services Chairman Aftab Siddiqi, and of American Muslim Democratic Caucus Co-Chair Syed Fayyaz Hassan passed away in Amarillo, Texas.
The funeral was attended by a large number of family members, friends and relatives flown to Amarillo Texas in from various cities of US and from overseas.
Mrs. Shareef left behind three sons, Rizwan Shareef, Irfan Shareef and Imran Shareef and three daughters Shahnaz, Kaukab and Sabeeha.
Talking to local media Mr. Hussain Shareef advocate said that they had been married for fifty seven long years and had been through a number of situations together including moving to Pakistan from Patna, India and raising children, and moving to US after retirement.
Mrs. Shareef was a kind hearted person and was always available to help poor and needy local community. Her son Mr. Irfan Shareef said that his parents had always been role model for him, adding that the world is not the same place without his mother.
Also AMDC co-chair Mr. Syed Fayyaz Hassan said that his aunt Mrs. Shareef has a great impact on his life as he had seen a number of acts of kindness by her where lives of people were changed and this has made a profound impact on him.
The family members of Mrs. Shareef have requested all to pray for blessing of Allah for the departed soul.
On the other hand Pakistani community leadership, social activists, and prominent community members including Pakistani American Association of Texas President Dr. Amer Suleman, Pakistan People's Party North Texas General Secretary and Pakistan Council of DFW President Akramah Khan, Pakistan Muslim League Dallas Coordinator Siraj Butt, South Asia Democracy Watch President Dr. Qaiser Abbas, and it directors Raja Zahid Khanzada, prominent Kashmiri leader Raja Muzaffar Kashmiri, Attorney Mahrose Nawaz, Attorney Tauseef Kamal, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf leader Nayyara Syed, local journalists Saeed Qureshi, Shah Alam Siddiqui, Muslim Community for Human Services Ex. Chair. Dr. Basheer Ahmad, Pakistani Doctors Association (APPNA) President Dawood Nasir, Sindhi Association of North Texas President Moazzam Bhangar, Houston Karachi sister cities project President Saeed Shaikh, Pakistan American Association of Texas directors Naeem Chaudhry, Dr. Javed Ajmal, Ghulam Waraich offered condolences to Aftab Siddiqui and Fayyaz Hassan for the sad demise of their aunt and offered fatiha.
