Sindh varsities law signed

KARACHI: Acting Sindh Governor Agha Siraj Durrani has signed the Sindh Universities Laws (Amendment) Act 2013, says a handout here Wednesday.

The act passed recently by the Sindh Assembly has amended different laws of government-run universities and degree-awarding institutes in Sindh province including Institute of Business Administration (IBA).

Under the new law, the powers to appoint the vice chancellors at the universities in the province will be transferred to the chief minister from the governor. (PPI/Geo)
