KARACHI: The request of the Muttahaida Quami Movement (MQM) to call a session of the Sindh Assembly in order to protest against raids and arrests in Karachi along with the inclusion of MQM parliamentarians on the list of individuals to be arrested has been dismissed by the provincial assembly speaker.

According to the Sindh Assembly Speaker, Agha Siraj Durrani the signatures of several MQM provincial parliamentarians on the requisition did not match with the record.

Commenting on the requisition being rejected, MQM MPA Khawaja Azharul Hasan speaking to Geo News said the stance of the provincial assembly speaker was not correct. He said that if Durrani had reservations regarding the signatures he could have summoned MQM MPAs to the Sindh Assembly for verification.

According to Mr Hasan the MQM will submit another requisition to summon the Sindh Assembly session.
