HIV positive UTP dies in hospital

Ratodero: An Under Trial Prisoner (UTP) detected HIV/AIDS positive during investigation at the Central Lab of the Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana, died on Tuesday.

Nazir Ahmed, son of Muharram Ali Nagraj, resident of Village Allah Rakhyo Junejo of Taluka Kambar was admitted in the UTP Ward on 20.5.2013 and later shifted to Medical Unit-I died in the same Ward. He remained in Central Prison, Larkana, for 9 years and was also suffering from Disseminated Tuberculosis.

He had been facing murder charges under FIR No: 44/2004 of Drigh police station of Kambar-Shahdadkot district under Section 302. His case had been pending in a Kambar Court since 2004. (PPI)
