GILGIT: Diamer Police on Thursday arrested two more activists of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, involved in killing of three security officials, investigating Nanga Parbat incident in which ten foreign mountaineers were shot dead.
Confirming the reports on phone, Superintendent of Police Diamer District Muhammad Navid said, "We have arrested two more culprits who had ambushed the vehicle of SSP, killing him along with a colonel and a captain".
He said police on a tip-off that two culprits were hiding in Babusar point of Diamer District, dispatched a party which raided a house in the area, he added.
He said, "Police conducted the raid on the hideout of two high profile TTP activists who are also involved in other acts of terror in the district".
The Police official identified them as Muhammad Nabi who was an executor and another as Qaribullah.
Navid said that Qaribullah maybe considered as a facilitator, planner or abettor as he held lot of information about the incident.
He said interrogation was in the progress after taking extraordinary security measures.
He pointed out that banned outfit has now been eradicated as their links are traced and are being chased so they cannot stay in this area.
The local grand Jirga has lauded the role of the Police, he added. (APP)
